May
9th, 2007- These last few weeks on the Lochsa have been awesome.
We have had some warm weather early this year so the Spring
rafting has been incredable! We are talking about temps in
the 70s and water levels up to 7 feet (Lowell Brige gauge)!
Right now the river is hovering at about 4 feet... I would
encourage anyone who has been thinkig about running the Lochsa
this season to call us up and make your reservation... Now
is the time to reserve your launch date with our Bearpaw office.
The Lochsa is about the coolest thing I can image to do in
Western Montana and North Central Idaho during this time of
the year. Experieance the Lochsa with Bearpaw. Come and get
it!
The 2007 Lochsa River rafting season is upon us!
It is looking to be a great season - we have plenty of snow
in the mountains and have made many great additions to our
Bearpaw Operations... We have streamlined certain areas of
our system and purchased some really cool tools and equipment
to improve our show. With our training trips beginning in
the first week of April, about the only thing missing from
the Big Lochsa River Running, Good Times Picture is YOU! Call
us up and book your trip today! Actually many of you have
already called us up for your 2007 trip dates (Thank You).
For those of you that have not, we still have many excellent
river dates. We cant wait to get out there and run Fake Onno's
Hole and all the other rapids!
To see just how much snow we have in the Lochsa River Drainage, go to the Bearpaw Navigation bar on your left and click on "Snow / Water Levels". Then click on the first link at the top of the list to bring up the data page. Look at the second group from the top, the Clearwater Basin... You will see that we have just over 105% (as of mid-January, 2007).
This year we have purchased a very powerful MAC laptop computer to compliment our array of high tech digital video and digital editing equipment. With this new laptop, we will be able to edit, and produce our digital video river trip footage into DVDs! What a cool thing to bring home to family and friends - a personalized DVD of your Lochsa River Adventure! We really look forward to using this new tool and look forward to offering you high quality, personalized DVDs after your trip. Sweet!
We now also have a Credit Card Machine in the office!
Now if you would like to use your card, you may do so.
Guide Training! We are now planning
our 4-day guide school! The guide
school wil take place April 16-19 (Monday – Thursday).
The first day of the guide school will be a “boathouse
session” which will include a CPR and medical refresher,
a overview of necessary whitewater skills, and general Bearpaw
employee info… We will provide you with a workbook that
will contain everything that you will need to become a licensed
Lochsa guide and a savy Bearpaw employee.
The last three days of the Guide School will take
place on the Lochsa River. This will be the 'hands-on”
portion of the guide school– everyone will have the
chance to guide a raft, swim some whitewater, throw some resque
ropes, and take part in many other on-river skills.
We will provide all meals during the workshop- begining
with lunch on the first day and ending with dinner on the
last day.

For more info on participating in our Guide Training
Workshop call Justin at 1 888 412 3900.
THANK YOU and we hope to see you soon.
